I've become a "Prison Break" extra

Like most men, I've worn my hair in the same style for decades, going to a procession of stylists and barbers to get the same ol' haircut. Not until this week has anyone screwed it up. It's basic: buzzed around the ears, short on top and thinned up there, too, because I've been blessed with thick hair.

My old barber literally went underground (a long story in itself), so I gave one of those franchised quicky-clippy places a try. First time, woman was great, giving me exactly the cut I wanted (at half the price!). She told me that she'd put the specs in the computer so anyone could cut it the same way. That didn't quite happen this time, and I wound up with a buzz cut all the way around. Marilynn and Walker both immediately noticed (which they never do). A girl in Declan's daycare class pointed at me immediately and said, "You got a haircut." The nodding acquaintance from the gym said the same thing this morning, which means I really got buzzed.

No kidding, I do look like an extra from "Prison Break," minus the cool tats. And that ain't happening.
